• My blog page displays correctly in Firefox and IE9. However, the font is distorted in IE 8. I figure many people will upgrade soon. Though, IE 8 is th epredominant web browser still. If it were your blog, would you just leave the html alone and perhaps put a note at the top of the page to view the page in Firefox or IE 9.

If you would change the html errors that are causing the problem with IE 8, I read about a solution using separate style sheets for IE and Firefox. Supposedly, inserting a code in the header to tell the browser which style sheet to use would resolve the issue of trying to create one “universal” style sheet for all browsers.

Please give me your advice on which route you would take if it were your own blog. My blog is https://www.labelosophy.com if you want to see the situation for yourself.

  • It’s still a pretty prevalent browser, so I’d probably do something about it. It’s probably easier to try a different theme, and find one that works in IE8 (perhaps the default Twenty Eleven?) than it is to try and fix this one. Unless you’re good at CSS, it may not be worth the effort.
