Should I convert my current site to wordpress
-
Someone told me that having the pages of my site (aliciacz3echowski.com) put into wordpress would make the whole site easier to manage. After making some tentative attempts to do this, I thought it a good idea to ask for a second (or however many) opinion.
I want the site to look and function as it is, with seven pages which are essentially menus pages with an image, six submenu pages which contain scrolling image galleries, and one submenu page that links to the wordpress blog. I want the blog page to be the only active wordpress pages with navigation to the other pages only from the menu I added above the wordpress header. The only thing I might do is change the image galleries to a wordpress plug in if I decide the vertical scrolling gallery I am converting to (the still lifes button) is a problem as was the hoizontal scroll I started with (the other image buttons).
I have linked the wordpress site to my site even though the blog currently has no content. If you select PAINTINGS from the word press menu you can see my first attempt to make a page to match my site. My theme is weaverII. I used a blank page template and made the page my pasting the html of my site’s painting page into content and the pasting my css rules into insert page-head-code.
Since I don’t know the next step to fix the page and it seems likely that it will be a lot of work (mostly to learn what to do) I thought I’d make extra sure the effort will be worth it.
