    Hi,

I got this message during installation:

Duplicator works best by placing the installer and archive files into an empty directory. If a wp-config.php file is found in the extraction directory it might indicate that a pre-existing WordPress site exists which can lead to a bad install.

This is an existing site, I’m a little confused on the message, does it mean we should delete wp-config.php? Or the whole site before continue?

I have managed to figure it out that the difference is deleting wp-config.php only will result in old files continue to exist after installing a snapshot, which may not ideal if the goal is making an exactly match site.

    Hey Edward,

Typically if your moving a site to a new location then in most cases its ideal to have an empty dir with only the installer and archive, however there maybe cases where you may not want to do that, it that scenario your correct if you remove the wp-config.php the process will continue.

    Cheers~
