Shortstat problem on WP 2.0

    Hi,
    i’m a newbie so sorry if this is silly, but:

    I’ve downloaded shortstat from: https://dev.wp-plugins.org/wiki/wp-shortstat
    and I put it into my content/plugins folder as wp-shortstat.php
    and I activated it from admin

    But… I’ve had the empty tables up on ShortStat page (the tab to it appears fine on the dashboard) for days now, and they haven’t left zero – yet I know people have clicked into the site.

    I’ve taken it out, downloaded it fresh, and repeated the whole thing. But still no joy, just zeros.

    What can I do?

  • I ran into the same problem – I ditched it for WP-SlimStat and have no problems since. (WP-Slimstat is based off of Shaun Inman’s ShortStat)

    i tried to ditch it for slimstat too – but i’m having trouble downloading it from the site this afternoon and can’t get the full file ??

    i could maybe walk away from the head-boshing and try again tomorrow…

    Fix:

    There’s an issue with ss 1.3 and WP 2.0.x. Try this fix:

    I was having the same trouble with logging not occuring. is_admin_page()* was returning true for non-admin pages. I just commented that line out, and it’s working for me on WP 2.0.2 – I don’t know what other effects doing this will have.

    * in the track() function, near line 95

    i saw that on your earlier question, and fiddled with the code, but it didn’t work (i just got error messages about a ‘)’ appearing where it shouldn’t…. ??

    But I then found and followed up the link to this: https://blog.happyarts.de/wp-shortstat/ where there’s a fix of the ShortStat problem with WP 2.0.2…..

    and woo hoooo!! it’s now working.

    the zeros have gone – and i’ve had two hits in the past hour. phew. now i can sleep easy.
