• Thank you to samuelaguilera for a great plug-in. This has the potential of easily updating social networks.

One thing that I cannot figure out how is that the updates that it is creating omit the URL from Facebook.

Here is the “code” that I have entered into the Status Message entry on Shorten2Ping page on my site:

    New post, [title] – [link]

Can you tell me what possibly I need to fix?

    Thank you as always.

    Frank

Looked all over my site and Ping.fm and just about every place else I could think of to see if I could get a looks at the error message which should have been stored in the custom fields of the post. No luck. I had none because there weren’t any generated. Why? Because Facebook had decided to unhook itself from ping! Once I reestablished the connection between Facebook and ping, I could post again with shorten2ping with no problems. I did see where an error message would have been if there had been one (in the custom fields section of the post).

?Uno ves mas, muchas gracias Sr. Aguilera!

    @ipublicis:

Your Shorten2Ping fork, is using my Ping.fm developer key (line 508), so please, remove it and request one for you at Ping.fm.

My code is GPL, but MY api key is not.

    Best regards,

    Samuel.

How do I get rid of the “Get Adobe Flash Player” image from being displayed when I transmit a new post from my blog to my Facebook Fan Page via Shorten2Ping and ping.fm?

    See https://www.facebook.com/teammcneilremax

Read Shorten2Ping readme and you’ll find how to do it.

Does anyone have trouble with scheduled post not showing up? I try to schedule the majority of my post, though when it is actually published it does not show up. However it works if i directly publish without scheduling it.

    Any ideas or help!?
    Thanks!!!

I have many blogs running with sheduled posts and S2P working fine.

Wich version of WordPress are you using?

    The newest.. Version 2.9.2

The only thing is I am using the NG version.. is that the problem. I just thought that it was a more updated version?

Could another plugin be affecting it? I have went through and deleted all the ones that are inactive.

I have switched to the non NG version. It works just fine now with scheduled post. Odd that happens. Thanks for the tip ??

I’m using version 1.4.4 and it’s not working.
Sam – I’m on the one who posted it on your site (Justin)
What happens is it posts to facebook and such like this:

New Post – “puts in the correct title” –

    no link or anything.

    thanks!
    J

fondalashay: The NG version is a fork of an user, I don’t give any support for it, so I’m glad for you that the original Shorten2Ping works for you ??

TheBigAppleBlog: Can you see any custom field in the edit post page with any error message?? (i.e. bitly_error)

Have you try to choose another shortener? what happens?

Wich method are you using to send the notification? (ping.fm or twitter directly).

We haven’t tried another shortener – we only have an account with bit.ly
We send the notifications to ping.fm

I just tried turning off the shortener and letting ping.fm do the work and it seemed to work…

Ok we’ll go with that for now.
    Thanks!

I just installed and tried the plugin and despite it took about 20 minutes to update my post, it worked…

Nevertheless I get this message in a custom field called “pingfm_error”: Your API key has been suspended. Please contact us regarding this matter.

Does it mean that the plugin will not work again?

I have downloaded and installed this plug-in and configured to send posts to my Ping.fm account with the correct API key. I have also double checked that my hosting account supports PHP 5.0 with cURL and JSON enabled. However, when I post a test message onto my WordPress Blog it does not send the notification to my Ping.fm account.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

I am getting the same pingfm_error as FerranMV above, but my post did not update to my Ping account. It has been over 25 minutes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    The error message is clear.

You both have YOUR api keys suspended. So you must contact to Ping.fm support.

This is not a plugin related issue.
