    From the ping.fm website.

“Note: API keys are meant for application developers. If you are using a Ping.fm app that someone has created, it shouldn’t require you submit an API key. Since we’ve recently changed this process, some of the apps might not have been updated to meet new requirements.

If you are using an app that requires an API key, contact the developer, or visit the app’s website for an up-to-date version.”

    Any word on an update?

  • Thanks samuelaguilera

I can understand that it is not your fault if this plugin is not working for me or my friends. But before I have used your plugin and liked it a lot thats why I wanted to thank you for making such nice plugin.

Carry on with your work man… You will get success in life on every step

works great on my website. thank you very much samuel.

Sam thanks for your work, I too came here looking for an answer to why this stopped working again. We moved our clients from API to email notify and now that is not working!

I’ll hope for updates and check back often for a solution!

Maybe we all just need to petition Ping/Seismic to give/allow each user to have/get their own api key which can be put into the plugin?

Much like Twitter Tools or other Twitter/Fb plugins. Each person must then use their own api key or other form of authorization, so that they can reject individual spammers without affecting the rest of us who want to use samuelaguilera’s plugin in honest and good ways.

What do you say? Should we all email them or start a thread on their support or something like that?

I like the idea Tevya, and I’d certainly participate!

Not to sure Ping.fm is listening though. I’ve followed their procedure to get “approved”, a few times, and never head back.

I’d also read someplace they were in transition, perhaps part of another company. I’ll look for that again and post if I can find the article I read.

This has been going on long enough, that I don’t like Ping cares any longer about the automated connection with wordpress users, or can’t do anything about the problem. We need to find another working solution. Too bad; Ping.fm was an effect tool for me!

I was frustrated after looking at this, and another plugin, both of which don’t work, so I posted about how Seesmic is ruining Ping.fm on my personal blog.

Just a little while ago, Yama from Seesmic replied on my blog. See his reply here: https://tevyawashburn.com/post/seesmic-is-ruining-ping-fm/

So maybe good things are coming? It sounds like they’re wanting to make us happy. I’ve got my finger’s crossed.

really sad… #$%& you Seesmic! you also ruining my life!

Hi all, there my wordpress is showing only title of the post not pictures attached nor link… anything i can do to fix it… thanks

There’s at least two workarounds: using Amplify for posting to Ping.fm (it can publish your new updates with the RSS feed I believe), and Amplify has a post-by-email feature, too…

Or you can use the Posterous plugin. Sign up to Posterous and it can push out to a number of sites, much like Ping.fm.

Just had to say a third option is…just email Ping.fm (your post-to email) when you post…not that much more time.
