I have gone over the list of keyboard shortcuts, but I cannot see any to bring up the ‘transform to’ dialog – Paragraph change block style or type. Is there a way to do this?
Also, how do you change the actual size of an image in the library, not just the size displayed. I am sure I have done this before but can find no way to do it now.
(And is there a way to open the media library without doing insert … ?)

In the admin menu, go Media > library. That of course would take you out of the editor. AFAIK you cannot open the media library modal in the editor without invoking a media insertion dialog. You do not have to complete the insertion though. If I’m not inserting media, I usually just Ctrl-click the admin menu item to get the library opened in a new tab so the editor remains active.

The default image sizes can be altered in media settings. Changes here will only affect new uploads. Existing images remain the size they are, unless you use one of the image regeneration plugins.

For image sizes added by your theme or plugins, ability to change sizes depends on the theme or plugin involved. It is possible to define your own custom image size with a bit of custom code.

I’m not very knowledgeable about keyboard shortcuts, I leave that answer to others.

    “Media > library” Doh! Thanks.
I thought I remembered being able to resize the actual image in WordPress but I guess I made it up!

You’re welcome. When you select images for certain usage such as the site icon and similar, you are given the option of resizing that particular image. Such an option is not available for any normal upload though. Maybe that’s what your were remembering?
