• Hi,
I’m sorry to say that your plugin (which I think is great) currently spoils the function of Shortcodes Ultimate as well as J-Shortcodes in my WordPress environment.

I’m aware I’m using an older version of WordPress because new versions have come up quite quickly in the last few months and I didn’t have the time to do the backups necessary before updating.

But maybe you already have information about this and if it’s not connected with what WordPress version is installed, I could save time doing the whole trial-and-error deactivate-reactivate game to make them all work together, as Qwizcard is a really useful tool to build up a learning environment.

    Theme: DW Wallpress 1.1.7
    Shortcodes Ultimate 4.9.9
    J-Shortcodes 1.407

    Kind regards,
    Martin Schwehla

Thanks; yes, it is some difficulty getting all the various plugins to “play nicely” with each other. Let us do some testing with those plugins and see if we can replicate the problem.

By the way, J-Shortcodes does not appear to have been updated in the last four years. Is it worth worrying about?

    Thanks again,

    Hi Dan,
thanks for giving it a try. It is true, J-Shortcodes is not that important for me – it had been my first choice, but little by little I replaced it with Shortcodes Ultimate which turned out to be more versatile. There are only one or two occasions left where I’m using it on my website, so I if had to get rid of it, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Just in case this might be of concern, I’ll give you my server configuration:
    Operating System Linux
    Server Apache
    Memory usage 7.52 Mb
    MYSQL Version 5.1.73
    SQL Mode Not set
    PHP Version 5.5.38
    PHP Safe Mode Off
    PHP Allow URL fopen On
    PHP Memory Limit 256M
    PHP Max Upload Size 2M
    PHP Max Post Size 8M
PHP Max Script Execute Time 30
    PHP Exif support Yes ( V1.4 )
    PHP IPTC support Yes
    PHP XML support Yes

    Thank you,
    Martin

    Hello Martin:

So far I’ve tried a Shortcodes Unlimited button on the same page with a Qwizcards flashcard deck; J-Shortcodes is also activated. All seem to work fine. (This is WordPress 4.7 running on Windows.)

Is there anything more particular I should try (besides a button, say)?

    Thanks,

    –Dan

    Hi Dan,

thanks for reacting so quickly. I used the WordPress installation of a friend, on the same server, to run Qwizcards on the latest WP version, and it behaved differently there in the first place; inasmuch as its whole range of functions was available and it did what it was supposed to do. This hadn’t been the case on my site, but as I hadn’t known anything about the plugin, I didn’t really know what to expect when I first tried to use it. Thus, the truth seems to be that my WP version has simply become too old for Qwizcards. I didn’t check the Shortcodes incompability yet but from this perspective, it might have been just a side effect of this. I will update my WP tomorrow and give you a short notice about the result.

    Thanks again,
    Martin
