Shortcodes of all created stories

Our main focus is currently the Gutenberg block editor, where we plan to add a block to display such a grid.

However, while we do encourage users to use the block editor, we are also looking into adding shortcodes for this functionality for our next release.

Great wor, just to add here. Like many other publishers, I am not comfortable with Gutenberg and prefer to have the traditional WordPress editor. Is there a work around where I can embed the web stories on the page myself?

Thanks for your feedback, @morpheus83! We’re in the middle of creating a shortcode to embed stories, and we’ll have it ready soon. We expect to have another release this month that will include this enhancement. Does that work for you?

Alternatively we could provide you with the development version for early testing before the release as soon as we’ve added the shortcode.

Thanks for the quick reply. That’s cool I will wait for the official release of the update. I am not sure if its already there, as I could not find one but perhaps you can have a thread on feature requests for the upcoming releases.

yes, absolutely!

Here is a workaround that you are looking for that worked for me. Copy your story URL and use this code to embed the story.

<iframe src=”story url” width=”400″ height=”400″></iframe>

You can also customize the width/height to your needs.

Sorry for dropping the ball here!

We’re actually planning on releasing this version this week, including a new [web_stories_embed] shortcode.

We’ve also added important fixes to ensure better responsive design for embeds, hence the delay.

New shortcodes will be coming in the version(s) after that.
