    Hi,
I’ve gone to update my site and it seems no shortcodes are working on there. Everything is ok which existed previously but when I try to add new content the themes short code doesn’t do anything and if I write shortcode in – even trying to put a list in using the wordpress shortcode, nothing happens on the front end.

    This is driving me mad!
I had been through and disabled all plugins and that didn’t fix it – don’t know what else it could be.
I haven’t added anything new, I haven’t added any content my site for a while, this is the first time I have gone back to it and something is amiss. I’m using the latest version of WordPress and the theme is up to date.

    Any clues?

    Thanks,
    Kat.

  • Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Hi,
Thanks for your response. I have updated the theme as I noticed it was a few versions behind. There were a few hiccups with that as well but that was Filezilla related. The shortcode seems to be working now the update has been done – I have just lost use of all the settings! I have contacted the theme author though and hopefully I’ll get there eventually!

    Many thanks again,
    Kat.
