    Hi,

    The shortcodes are not working – the content is simply not showing up on the page. The strange thing is that at first it did show up but then it stopped and I don’t know why. I customized the background color and added a separating line with Avada Live Builder and I don’t know if it’s related but after that the shortcode disappeared.

    After that, I tried adding the code to different parts of the page and to other pages as well and it didn’t show up anywhere anymore.

    I also deactivated and reactivated all plugins and tried with the default WP theme and it didn’t help either.

    Thanks in advance for your help and best regards,
    Barbara

    EDIT to add that this plugin did something very strange in the widgets area – it put some of the content that was in the widgets in MEC single bar. I didn’t do this. Here’s the screenshot:

    Hi @webnus

    From what I understand, the article you suggested for troubleshooting is for cases when one gets a “no event found” message? I don’t get any messages, the space where the code is is simply blank, same as if the code wasn’t there. However, I did most of the things it mentions in the first part (without SQL Query Fix) before writing my first post here.

    The content simply doesn’t show up – there is nothing in the place where the code is.
    Here’s a screenshot:
    2021-03-22_17-29-59

    The event text and images are there because I entered them manually since I had to find a solution to post links to event pages. But as shown in the screenshot, if the shortcode was working, events should be visible at the placement where the arrow is pointing (above the horizontal line and below the “Access Energijski Facelift……” text.

    I’m not sure what kind of documentation or more details I can give you to help… the screenshot I posted is from the homepage of the website I posted in my first post: https://anabergant.com
    So the shortcode is inserted on the homepage, below all the manually posted events but nothing is showing up where the code is.

    Best regards,
    Barbara

    I just played around a bit again and it’s working now. I think all I did before it started working was go to Slugs/Permalinks and clicked Save Changes even though I haven’t made any changes.

    I also noticed shortcodes for Views that require the Pro version don’t show up at all but it would be very useful if there was a preview so we can evaluate if we’d like to have that skin and upgrade to Pro. I know there are probably demos on your site but it takes extra time and more importantly, it’s not the same as testing with my own events, especially because the photos get cropped and I’d like to see it with my photos, not just a demo. Just a suggestion…

    Thank you & best wishes,
    Barbara

    Hi @webnus

    Yes, the shortcode issue has been resolved. I have another (unrelated) question though: When I enter the text (description) of the event, extra spaces between paragraphs don’t work/show up. In WP backend I can create them, but on the frontend, all the lines are together.
    Here’s what I mean – space between paragraphs in the backend:
    2021-03-25_19-49-52

    No space on the frontend – text is harder to read and less scannable:
    https://anabergant.com/events/access-bars-delavnica-v-bovcu

    Is this a bug or is it how the plugin works and it’s not possible to create spaces?

    Thank you and best regards,
    Barbara

    Hello @barbmil,

    I’m glad the shortcode issue is fixed,

    Regarding the space between paragraphs, please ?deactivate all your plugins and let the MEC remain active only, set your theme on default, then reload the page, if the issue was solved, then activate your plugins one by one and your theme, refresh your page and check to see which plugin is causing the issue.

    I didn’t see any issue on our demo page on the clean website:

    Hi @webnus,

    I did as suggested and changed the theme to Twenty Twenty and deactivated all plugins except for MEC but the issue persists:
    This is how it looked on the frontend:
    2021-03-30_13-41-16

    And this is how it looks in the backend, spaces are visible:

    Hello @barbmil,

    Can you please use the paragraph instead of the division for event content and let me know the result?

    Actually, the structure of the event content is not correct on your events. So please create a new test event and make sure to use the paragraph on the content: https://i.postimg.cc/4ycfpPk3/image.png

    In SEO ready websites used the <p> instead of the <div> on the post and post type content.

    Please keep us posted.

    Hi @webnus
    I created a new event and typed in some text and there were indeed spaces between paragraphs showing up on the site.

    I was copy pasting text from elsewhere, so not sure why this happened… so now I copied text without formatting and then formatted it again manually and spaces are working.

    Just another question: Is it possible to make the title of the event on the page in custom color and not same as body text of the event? I was looking at all the options but it doesn’t seem to be possible.

    Thanks a lot for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Barbara

    Hello @barbmil,

    I’m glad it is resolved,

    Regarding the title color, please follow the steps explained in this article:
    https://webnus.net/dox/modern-events-calendar/inspect-element/

    Also, you can use the CSS below:

    body.single-mec-events .mec-wrap h1.mec-single-title  {
        color: #c7a14c !important;
    }
