• ok, if i go to add a new page, add a title, and in the post’s content area I use a shortcode, and then click on “Preview”, all is fine, the shortcodes work as they should.

I then click on “Publish” and go to see the page, I just see the shortcode, not the content it should produce.

The preview page still shows the shortcodes well.

    What is going on?

To give you an example I created a page with all the short codes in it, as you will see, some work (I like to think they are the more default ones) and some don’t:
    https://www.hollandsenieuwe.com/blog/test/

On the preview page however, all work:
    https://www.hollandsenieuwe.com/blog/?page_id=25816&preview=true

Does anybody have an idea what could cause this? Thanks!

(p.s. this is not a WP version thing, has been going on for the last few versions, and that’s when I first noticed)

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Yes, I forgot to mention that; have done all that and it didn’t change anything.

However, I’ve been reading more posts about similar problems, and although I couldn’t find a solution (people replying “found it, my fault, sorry”, really helpful ?? I did see somebody mentioned he moved his wordpress site into a folder. I did something similar not too long ago.

Now, while writing this message, I found the problem and it’s solved:
I had made changes to the .htaccess file in the root folder, but my index.php wasn’t there anymore, and the new location of wordpress wasn’t reflected in the .htaccess file in the wordpress folder.

Now that’s done all shortcodes work again.

So, thanks for all the fish!

(hopefully this will help someone with the same problem)
