    Hello!

On admin page Tools / Shortcode exec, when I click Save or Test buttons, I get the red-colored text “Error 404” under the code box.

And besides, shortcodes don’t work and are printed on screen, as if they have been written in Visual mode and not Text.

Code used to work well before I migrated the site from localhost to internet. I searched/replaced every single URL in dumped database before importing it on new server…

The short code was executing just fine, but today I looked at my pages and I’m just seeing the short code with a ? after it. I am running WordPress 3.8.1 running Twenty Fourteen theme. But I have been running 3.8.1 ever since it was introduced and had no problems before. Maybe a conflict with another plugin?

My site is totally broken now because of this and will take many hours to repair unless I can figure out why this has happened.

I solved my own problem. Turns out I demoted the author of the pages in question and the code would no longer rung because the author did not have admin privileges.

It’s been that way a couple days and I hadn’t noticed!
