As of yesterday (20th August 2020), all the forms displayed using shortcodes on our site no longer appear. I have checked our settings and they all seem fine, no changes have been made to the theme in use, and no wordpress or plugin updates have been performed. I cannot see anything in the error logs related to why this might be.

Has something changed on the Benchmark side of things that might cause these forms to stop appearing?

    Thanks,

    Ben

    Hello Ben,

Sorry to hear this. Please provide exact steps to reproduce. Also note what version of WordPress, Benchmark Email Lite, and the browser you are using. Moreover, instead of the missing form, what do you see (e.g., blank space, error message, etc.)?

I ask because using WordPress 5.5, Benchmark Email Lite 3.3, and Windows Chrome 84.0.4147.135 I was not able to reproduce your issue with a shortcode copied/pasted onto a newly created page. That is, the form appeared and I was able to subscribe a new user.

    Thanks in advance,

    Randy Sandberg

    Hi Randy,

Apologies for the delay in my reply on this. We worked it out in the end. It seems that the plugin saves the response received from Benchmark in a transient for a while, but is doing so even if the response is an error. Once I cleared out the transients everything went back to normal. It might be worth considering an update to the plugin though to only save successful responses, so this can’t happen in the future?

    Thanks,

    Ben

Thanks for reporting these findings, @bengallienne.

I have updated the GitHub project v3.3.1 with this fix and will release to www.remarpro.com with our next release for v3.4
