Whatever I try, the shortcodes do not work; I get “We cannot display this gallery” or “No images were found.”

The legacy shortcodes work fine (e.g. nggallery id=52). The gallery insert function on the editing toolbar works fine. But the newer shortcodes (e.g., ngg_images gallery_ids=”51″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_compact_album”) do nothing.

I’m working with NextGen on two different client sites (one a multisite install, one single), so I’ve tried everything. Old theme vs. new. Switching to default themes (twentyfourteen and twentyfifteen). Disabling every plugin except NextGen. Re-importing DB tables. Deactivating NextGen and reactivating it.

Does NextGen 2.10 no longer recognize those shortcodes? I realize end users aren’t likely to need them, but I find it easier to use shortcodes, especially when bulk updating records in the DB. I’m perfectly happy keeping the old shortcodes, as long as they won’t stop working in plugin upgrades.

I plan to upgrade to Plus, but want to make sure NextGen works as it’s supposed to first.

    Thanks.

OK, it seems to be working now. Far as I can tell, it was a combination of trying to use an album display type with a gallery, and maybe a problem with image paths. Whew!

@virgvv – Yes, I suspect it was the wrong parameter (gallery_ids for an album display) … switching either to album_ids or the display_type to a “gallery” version will correct this issue.

    Thanks for the update!
