Shortcodes Don't Work

I type in a shortcode into a post and it doesn’t do anything. For instance, if I create a gallery like:

[gallery ids="171,170,160,150,144,139,138,136,135,134,
132,131,129,128,127,125,123,118,116,117,112,94,91,33,26,
21,20,19,12,8"]

And insert it into a page, it displays as:
[gallery ids="171,170,160,150,144,139,138,136,135,134,
132,131,129,128,127,125,123,118,116,117,112,94,91,33,26,
21,20,19,12,8"]

It seems to be an error in my theme because it works with twenty fourteen.
