I use the Jetpack “subscriptions” as an option for some of my site users so that they can subscribe to my blog updates via Jetpack.

However, I notice that several of the “shortcodes” I use on my site show up by displaying the actual shortcodes in the subscription email, instead of what they are supposed to do.

For example, I have one called “gap” that creates line breaks, but in the emails from wordpress.com, it shows up in the post email as:

    [gap 10]

instead of doing the actual “gap” it creates on my site

Hope I explained this properly, and I can send examples if you want to see some if necessary.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the report! This is a known issue with Jetpack and subscription emails. Currently, any shortcode that is not used on WordPress.com will show up as the original shortcode in the subscription email, and will not show the content that is generated by the shortcode.

That is because Jetpack does not apply the shortcode filters before building the email. The Jetpack team is working on a solution to this, but I do not have a timeline for you at the moment.

If I can help you with anything else in the meantime, please let me know!

Looking forward to a resolution on this. Thanks.

Any progress on this resolution? Looking forward to it. Thanks.

    Thanks.

I’m having this same issue. It’s been 7 months since this discussion started. Have you solved the problem? I posted one Blogpost and jetpack sent all of my followers an email full of shortcode. What is the solution to this issue? Is there something I can do on my end?
