Shortcodes are not removed from the excerpt

As far as I know, BNFW just uses the default WordPress behaviour with regards to excerpts. A work-around to this would be to create a manual excerpts for a each post which should be used over auto-generated excerpts.

the proposed workaround works so far. But that can not be a permanent solution. The problem with the BNFW excerpt shortcode only occurs in conjunction with BNFW. On my blog page the excerpt is processed correctly. Below, I submit a test notification. It clearly shows that the shortcode of the foo gallery is not removed. The default value for the excerpt is 50 words, and was not changed by me. The text of my post is 51 words. Nevertheless, the formation of the excerpts does not end with the 50th word, but also takes over the shortcode of the gallery.

This is not the standard behavior of wordpress. I hope you can help me.
