Thanks Michael. However, I had to disable the plugin in order to be able to login. I have moved the code to the functions.php file of the child theme and restructured it a bit. The error was caused by the errant “}”.

Do I need debug first to find out what did go wrong when updating your plugin ? Witch plugin is best to handle debugging in WordPress ? I don’t want to deal with wp-config.php file as I am not good with coding, php etc …

This error means that there is an error in YOUR CODE that saved via the plugin. I think the new version is reporting errors that the previous version did not.
