yes, unfortunately, that template doesn’t include images..but you can customize it to include images if you know a bit of php.

I know some PHP but far from an expert. Any chance you can give me a point in the right direction? Where would I need to place the code?

    Thanks for the reply

well, the main problem is that template is being taken up by the title and content. I can get you a template in a few days that will bring in the image, but that would probably mean getting rid of the content or else making each box a whole lot bigger.

    That would be great.

I think if it were just the image and the title, that could be really good. I can then adjust as needed, with CSS.

    Thanks

Thanks so much. I implemented this and it seems to be correct. But I made a mistake with my request. I am actually uploading videos from a video site. Is there a way to capture the image of the the video in some way?

Not that I know of…the plugin should take the video (if it’s from youtube or vimeo) and make the video show up, but the image isn’t a different thing as all videos don’t necessarily have an image. If you give me the rss feed, maybe I can see if there is a way.

    This is the feed: https://www.godtube.com/inspirational-videos/rss.xml

If it shows the video, that would be fine too.

    Thanks

this is what I get with this feed

(note, it’s not a standard YouTube feed, so this is as good as the plugin will do)

The images you are getting, are good enough for me but I am still not getting the images. Here is the shortcode I am using:
    [wp_rss_multi_importer category=”5″ thisfeed=”8″ mytemplate=”smooth_scroll2.php”]

You can see the result at FaithInTheNews (.) com – Its the only scrolling affect I am using and its about half way down the screen. It only displays the title.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks for all your help

    Plugin Author Allen

    (@amweiss98)

that’s because the shortcode doesn’t handle videos..what I showed you was the feed to post results.

OK. Maybe I got confused along the way here. What exactly would I be able to do to accomplish what I need or get close?

I am testing 2 different things on the site right now to get what i want. The first video section I have displays about like what I want, but when I click it goes to the post on my site (I would like it to go to the website source). If I could get it to click to the source site, this would work perfectly.

The second video section on my site has a a great scrolling function and and the link goes to the source of the video but it dose not display the image/video.

if it’s the feed to post, you can click the option to have the title go to the url of the source (not your web site). If you are using the shortcode, as I said, that doesn’t have the ability to include the video.

now that I’m looking at this, it appears the current version of that template works as well.
