Shortcode to show category posts on page

  • Hello, I am using the Organic Themes Swell Theme and I am having problem with making the shortcode for category posts to work.

    I read on WordPress.com about Shortcodes and that there should exist a shortcode for showing posts from a certain category on a page.
    Here is the link to that page:

    But it does not work for me, any help? I am having a blog that I want to have its own travel page, but not as a direct link to the category, as I have other content on the travel page that I want to keep.

    The only thing I get is the code showing, just like if I entered it as text.
    Please help me with this.

    Also, I want an appealing way to show them off, so I have already tried the List Category Posts Plugin, did not like it. So if there are any other ways, hopefully I can get help with the wordpress shortcodes so that I can use the native way to do this.
