Shortcode to Home Profile instead of Profile Page

  • Hello,

    I am trying to use a plugin called Youzer which styles the BuddyPress account to look more like a social media page. The page that is considered to be someone’s profile is the “Home Page” of the BuddyPress profile, rather than the profile page. Your shortcode [bpps_profile_url] brings me to the following link:

    https://ruffpast.com/members/ruffpast/profile/

    However, your shortcode [bpps_profile_edit_url] also brings me to the following link:

    https://ruffpast.com/members/ruffpast/profile/

    Shouldn’t the [bpps_profile_url] shortcode bring you to the home page, also known as the following link (for my case):
    https://ruffpast.com/members/ruffpast/

    If the shortcode is doing as intended, is there a shortcode to bring the viewer of the page to get directed to the home page of the user that they are looking into (without the /profile/ at the end)?

  • Hi – I found this plugin while also looking for a way to work with Youzer and a custom post type.

    there are some things that need to be worked on regarding [bpps_profile_url] –

    try this:

    [bpps_profile_header displayed=”Author” ]

    this will show the Avatar (profile image), Cover Image, and @username that links to the profile page. see notes in this plugin description about css if it doesn’t display as you’d like
