Shortcode resolves on Elementor preview but not live frontend

I am using Elementor Pro and have inserted a shortcode inside a basic Heading widget included with my theme. In this case, the example “Current year” snippet [code_snippet id=4 php]. Oddly, it produces the current year in Elementor preview, but when I look at the live site frontend, all I see is the actual shortcode (not the year). So I end up with “Copyright [code_snippet id=4 php]” on the frontend.
