    I looked into doing this, but unfortunately it’s not functionality that can be added to the widget itself. Rather, you’d need to add it to your WordPress theme or install a plugin.

    The WordPress Widgets Shortcode plugin might do what you want. Or, if that isn’t quite what you want and you are a bit more technical, there’s a function that you can add to your functions.php file as documented here.

    Thanks, I’ll have a look at this.
    Anyway, the thing I wanted to do is to add the shortcode in the header theme file (I am not sure actually if the term shortcode is the correct one).
