Shortcode not working on my site anymore

    I just realized that the shortcode is not working on my site anymore.
    Don’t know for how long.
    I’ve got a front-end page where the user can edit his or her profile.

    In that page I inserted:
    [plugin_delete_me]Profil l?schen[/plugin_delete_me]

    In the past this worked perfectly and showed a link called “Profil l?schen” where the user was able to delete himself.

    Now it does not show the link anymore. Instead it shows the phrase as above including the shortcodes.

    What can be done?

    Sorry to hear that and for the late response. I just saw your post tonight, sometimes WordPress doesn’t send me my Support Forum posts :/

    Are you sure Delete Me is still installed and activated?

    The Shortcode doesn’t work under “/wp-admin”, might you have moved the page under this directory?

    Do you have any other Shortcodes on your page that ARE working?

    Yes, it’s activated.
    Yes, other shortcodes are working.
    No, I did not move anything manually.
    It happens in a page where it used to work before.

    OK, happy to help dig deeper on this if you wish. This is the first report of this happening and as you said it was working before so I’m assuming something new in your specific installation is in conflict.

    1) Copy and paste or screenshot the Settings > Delete Me you have under Shortcode.

    Even if your settings have not changed since it WAS working, lets rule out an issue with those.

    2) Provide a list or screenshot of the other WordPress plugins you have installed.

    I can install them into a test environment to search for a conflict.

    I already had this issue once years ago.
    The it worked for a while.
    Now it’s back.

    It seems I cant’t upload any images here.
    Please let me know, where to send them.

    Hi cmc3215,
    I also noticed that the Delete Me link is no more displayed. It is part of a text widget in the footer area. The <div> is there but empty.
    I don’t know since when it’s like that. But it must have been there about 2 months ago.

    In the future, please create a new topic if an issue is marked resolved.

    That said, I will offer this information in my reply:

    1) Make sure the user you’re using to test with has a role that’s been checked on the Delete Me Settings.

    2) (Taken from Installtion tab on plugin page) Text Widget – To use the Shortcode in a Text Widget, make sure the line add_filter( 'widget_text', 'do_shortcode' ); appears in your Theme Functions (functions.php) file.

    3) If you use a caching plugin you might want to look into whether it is affecting the page in question.
