Shortcode Not Working in Text Widget

    Hello I am using a shortcode in a text widget but it does not work. All I see is the shortcode, for example [content_block id=399].

    The content block widget does work, but I need to use the shortcode in a text widget.

    I am on WordPress 4.8.2, Genesis Child Theme, Edit Author Slug plugin and Askimet plugin (disabled).

    Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi kmbee,

    Unfortunately the default WordPress text widget does not support using shortcodes and therefore the content block shortcode is not working.

    This is an issue with the text widget and not with the Content Blocks plugin, I can therefore not provide a fix for this.

    Thank you for the response Johan, I have resolved the issue by enabling shortcodes in functions.php. Cheers.
