Hello I’m considering using tablepress instead of another table plugin. So i set up a staging environment to test it. I created a new google sheets csv table with no problem and it works well in wp-admin tablepress area.
On the other hand, I can’t make any shortcode to work, either on elementor or wordpress editor… Tried to debug but no error at all. I even tried your addon to change the shortcode name, even tried a weird name (that could’t possibly be taken by another plugin), but it won’t work ??

Any idea of possible reason of this issue ?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

That sounds really strange, and I don’t really have an explanation for this…
Can you please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and after switching to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty? That way, we can find what’s causing this.
Also, please try using a “Shortcode” block in the WordPress block editor.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks a lot for your quick answer Tobias. Actually something very weird happenned and i’d be very happy if you can provide me some explanation :
    – I’ve been testing your plugin since yesterday (at least 5-6 hours) without beeing able to display a single table except in the backend.
    – I set up a staging site this morning : exact copy of my live site, and i had exactly the same issue : no shortcode table displayed in the front end
    – Using a plugin i deactivated all my plugins and themes => It worked ! I could see the table…
    – Then I reactivated all my plugins one by one : still worked !
    – Then I reactivated my theme : no problem …

And the weirdest is the following : I went back to my live site and … it worked! Shrotcodes working with no problem except in elementor editor.

    So basically :
    – I did absolutely nothing on my live site
    – I made it work on my test site by deactivaying/reactiving all addons and themes
    – Just seconds after it worked on my staging site, it started to work on my live site

That doesn’t make sense for me except if YOU changed anything in your users database OR if it was a cache issue but i cleared it like 50 times before…

Any clue to confort me that I’m not facing a weird random issue ?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

that’s indeed weird, but great to hear that it’s working now! ??
(I did not change anything, as I can’t change anything on your site ?? ).
Caching would be an option, but it would still be strange. It could have been some server issue as well, e.g. with the installed version of PHP on the server.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!

Ok Thanks Tobias. Actually i still have issues. The table shows with elementor posts, but not on wpforms, whereas wpdatatables and ninjatables shortcodes work with no problems with wpforms.

I guess I may have some shortcode handling issues on my site but unfortunately, this only occurs with tablepress. As I don’t have any clue to solve this issue, i’ll go for another plugin. Thanks anyway.
