I am new to WordPress, just looking for a book library/archive system to suit my needs.

I installed the Book Review Library plugin initially but have since disabled that and am now trying the Web Librarian plugin.

I haven’t really done anything with Web Librarian yet other than create a librarian user and a static home page with the shortcode [weblib-searchform]. However the shortcode displays as is and does not show the search form. (Shortcodes did work in Book Review Library).

I’m running WordPress 4.6.1 , the TwentySixteen theme and PHP 5.6.26

I would appreciate any advice on how to resolve this.

I should also add that it doesn’t make any difference which browser i use.

My only suggestion is to switch out of “visual editor” mode. I’m guessing that somehow the brackets are getting converted to HTML entities and/or the shortcodes are being embeded in some HTML markup or something like that.

    Robert, many thanks for responding.

Mea culpa! I had typed [weblib-searchform] instead of [weblib_searchform] (I used a dash instead of an underscore)
