Shortcode Messes Up Edit Post Page

  • When I place [toc] in a post using the Edit Post wp-admin page, the edit post page layout is changed (the front-end page works as expected). The admin menu under Posts has extra padding, and the text on the page has different usually sizes.

    When I move the shortcode, the Edit Post page returns to normal.

  • I just noticed the same thing when trying to edit an old post. After some online searching I found someone recommending the Easy Table of Contents plugin as an alternative (it’s a fork of TOC+). I tried it and it solved my problem so you might give it a go too unless the TOC+ author plans to fix this issue soon.
