We’d like to track clicks and award points using the myCred plugin but need to be able to add a shortcode in the URL field however Advanced Ads won’t allow anything other than a URL ??

Is there a way round this?

    Hi simonp820,

    interesting use case!

What does the shortcode of the myCred plugin stand for?

It should be possible to use the “plain text & code” ad type if it just prints a URL.

    Hi Thomas,

This is the mycred help page link

It basically needs to be something like:

    [mycred_link href="https://www.bbc.co.uk"]BBC[/mycred_link]

    (I’m using Image Ads btw)

    Cheers!

    Thank you.

How does the output of this shortcode look like if you used it in a normal post? Does it only create a link or adds more code?

I am hesitant right now to interpret shortcodes in the URL field. The plain text or rich media ad types are meant for this. The latter also allows you to insert images, so it should work for your use case.

Thanks Thomas – I’ve switched from Images Ads to Rich Media Ads and all works ok.

    Cheers.
