• Hi,

I noticed that if the product description contains any shortcode, this shortcode is passed on to Facebook as-is.

I think it would be great, if any shortcode could be rendered before being passed to Facebook.

    Best regards,

    Stefan

    Hi,

I think I understand well, but the thing I need is what I asked you before:

Could you please post here an example of description translated wrongly, as it is saved in the product description? So, included original shortcode or HTML tags inside that description.

I want to know the description as it’s written inside the product, so then I can try to understand how to improve the sanitization of the description inside the feed.

    Hi,

This plugin’s latest version parses any shortcode in the description field before sending the result to Facebook. This is great.

However, content that is never displayed on the website, like the content between an svg icon’s title tags, is also parsed and send to Facebook.

I’d like to send you a screenshot of an svg icon’s HTML, but don’t know how to upload any file here.

    Hi,

you may use this great service: https://snag.gy/
Thank you in advice for the screenshots.

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t get this service to work, because the web page took so much CPU on my computer and didn’t react on my clicks.

Maybe this will be of some use to you: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/SVG/Element/title

It’s a reference to the title tag I was talking about. In general and to be safe, I guess everything inside a svg tag should not be parsed.

Hey @bytesource, sorry for those misunderstandings, but I think I got it now. I’m working on a fix, I’ll get back to you as soon as I have something could fix this.

Thanks for the patience and sorry for the issue.

    Hi @antoscarface,

Thank you so much for working on this problem! Also, as I am not running any dynamic ads at the moment, time is not an issue.

Here I am with the fix. Please, get the new version of the plugin from the following link and replace it with the one you have on your website: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iwrbwuaijr36w30/pixel-caffeine.2.0.2.striphtml.zip?dl=1

Let me know if it solves ??

    Hi,

I just deleted the current version of the plugin and installed the version pixel-caffeine.2.0.2.striphtml you provided me with.

After refreshing the product feed from within the plugin, I went to Facebook to inspect the contents uploaded from the ‘description’ field. Unfortunately the content of the SVG icon’s title tag is still visible.

Just to make sure I also uploaded the feed manually while on Facebook, but the result was the same.

    Best regards,

    Stefan

    Hi,

please make sure to have replaced correctly the Pixel Caffeine version with the one I posted you before, because I was able to reproduce the issue and this new version had solved to me.

Give me this confirm please, I had had a case where the user wasn’t able to replace correctly the version I gave him in the link.

To make sure, delete the plugin from the plugin list and upload it again the one you download from the previous link.

I just checked it and the fix is there.
    Let me know.

    Hi,

How to I verify I have the correct version installed?

As I said, I deleted the old one and then uploaded the version you sent me. But of course, something could have gone wrong. I just don’t now how to check.

    Best regards,

    Stefan

    Hi,

let’s try to download it again from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iwrbwuaijr36w30/pixel-caffeine.2.0.2.striphtml.zip?dl=1

After you will delete and install it again from this URL, you should see Pixel Caffeine in the plugin list with the version 2.0.2-alpha1.

    Let me know, thanks.

    Hi,

    I did the following:
    — Deaktivated plugin
    — Deleted plugin
    — Installed the version you sent me in your previous mail by uploading the zip file.

Still, I cannot see any alpha.

I’m not sure what I did wrong, and I don’t want to delay this update any further. So I suggest you just release it as it is.

    Best regards,

    Stefan
