    Hi,

I’m wondering about using your plugin as a simple way for cookie consent management for sites where consent-requiring cookies are only loaded through optional embeds, but I’ve got a couple of questions regarding the legal compliance. Are you sure that a shortcode added to the privacy policy to offer consent management is sufficient for GDPR compliance purposes? I read somewhere that, for example, the German privacy officers working group has a requirement for a continously visible “switch” or “handle” to load the consent management system?

    Thanks!

    Hi there!

First off all, I cannot give you a legal advice since I‘m not a lawyer. Embed Privacy improves the default privacy of your website by not loading embeds automatically and that’s basically it. If you embed external content, you also have to name it in the privacy policy. The shortcode provided by Embed Privacy is not sufficient in terms of the requirements for your privacy policy. It’s just an additional tool that can help you creating a privacy-friendly website.

    Best regards

    Matthias
