Shortcode generator in TinyMCE toolbar

    Hey guys,

    Really enjoying what I’m finding with this plugin, thanks so much for making it available.

    One thing which would help tremendously I think, is the option to insert files with a button click in the TinyMCE toolbar.

    The main reason I was looking for something like Document Gallery, is to provide an easy option for a client to embed PDF files in their site.

    The problem is, that although using shortcodes is second nature for those of us who use build sites in WordPress, often the end user is technically inept, and the concept of shortcodes makes them begin to shake at the knees and bleed from the eyes..

    Any thoughts on how to include an option to generate the [dg] shortcode from a TinyMCE toolbar button?

    Is this something on your roadmap to do?

    Hey Guy,

    Your rationale for why this is a good feature made me laugh! ??

    You’re one step ahead of the game! This enhancement is actually scheduled to be our next minor release (https://github.com/thenadz/document-gallery/issues/6). The plan is actually to integrate shortcode generation into the Media Manager rather than the TinyMCE editor though — the same setup as the standard [gallery].

    Hi Dan,

    I figure we have to be a bit silly on occasion, it staves off the madness ??

    Anyway, that’s great news, and your solution sounds much more elegant that my random musings.

    Really useful plugin, and sounds like it’s heading on to greater things.

    Duly bookmarked too, shall most certainly be recommending it to anyone else I encounter who is looking for a good file embed solution.

    I LOVE the Ghostscript option!
