Shortcode for symbol selection, and hide categories

Hi.
I’m using the shortcode to include this in a page. However, how do I specify which symbol I want for expand/collapse? I tried specifying:
[jQuery Categories List symbol=3]but didn’t seem to work.
And also, how can I specify how to ignore certain categories?
