And I should note that I just tried it on a site that is only at 3.4.1 and got the same results so it’s not a version issue.

    Hi

This plugin does not include a shortcode. Instead you should edit the template file to add the PHP function. see the install page…

    Thanks Chris.

I did see those instructions as well. But, you need to update the instructions found on the plugin page when installed. They currently read:

…The custom login/logout form is added to the page using a shortcode[password_only_login]. Like on the standard …

Too bad, cuz it’d be kick butt if you could drop it in via shortcode like so many other plugins these days. I am not versed enough with backend PHP stuff so was not able to implement this.

For this project, I’ve resorted to using UPME which does drop a standard WP login onto a page or post with a simple shortcode string. https://profileplugin.com/front-end-login-form/ It works beautifully. Unfortunately, they do not have a password only login so I had to come up with a workaround for this particular application.

    Thanks again for responding.

No probs. I will add a shortcode to the next version.
    Thanks for feedback

That would be awesome! I searched and worked on solutions for hours over a few days – nothing comes close to your product (kind of surprisingly, IMO)

I had to make a simple “access code only” landing / access page for a direct mail marketing campaign. PM/EM me and I’ll send URLs to the site if you’re curious.
