• I had set up ads with automatic injection after 1 paragraph and all worked fine.

Now, I removed this ad and wanted to disable the plugin. But after I disable the plugin, this shortcode appears in all the posts.

Only when I keep the plugin activated the code is hidden from front end.

What should I do to remove this short code?

I looked into the post code (editor view in the backend) and this short code is not present.

    Hi Praveen,

    Thanks for reporting your problem.

Can you please clarify if you used a Post Content placement for the automatic injection or if you manually embedded shortcodes for ads/manual placements into your posts?

Can you also please post the shortcode here?

    Best regards,

    Joachim

    Hi @schmidt25

I used the post content placement. Not manual option.

    The code is [the_ad_group id=”3159″]

I can confirm that I have deleted all the ads, all the placements and all the adgroups. There isn’t anything in the backend.

    Hi,

Thanks for your prompt reply. If you add shortcodes into your posts but delete later the plugin that executes those shortcoes, they should show up as a shortcode. Advanced Ads (and not other plugin) cannot edit your posts and remove manually injected shortcodes after deinstallation.

If you injected too many shortcodes that it would be much work to delete them manually, you might use a search and replace plugin like Search & Replace to automate this task.

    Best regards,

    Joachim

    Hi @schmidt25

As I mentioned I did not manually insert any shortcode. I used the placement option inside AdvancedAds to show the ads after the 1st paragraph.

    Hi Praveen,

Sorry for misunderstanding you. This potential error is new to me. I want to summarize to ensure that I understand your issue correctly now.

    1. You have a content placement and assigned an ad group to it
    2. You disabled the Advanced Ads and afterward, the ad group’s shortcode persists in all your posts?

Can you please provide a link to your website?

    Best regards,

    Joachim

    Hi @schmidt25

    That is correct.

This is my website – at the moment, the plugin is active but there are no ads, ad groups or placements. I have deleted them all. You can go into any category and you will not see the short code.

    Hi Praveen,

This is strange because the code of Advanced Ads does not include the possibility that the plugin automatically adds shortcodes.

I noticed that you have an active license, and I would like to take the chance to look at which instance serves this shortcode. Can you please contact our support with reference to this thread? I will stick with your problem.

    Best regards,

    Joachim

We could resolve this problem. In the theme options there was a hidden setting, which allowed the theme to insert this shortcode automatically into the posts.
