I have password protected sections on some of my posts. I don’t use a page builder and mainly use the classic editor. The content is protected using the shortcode [ppwp passwords=xyz] content [/ppwp]. It works on all browsers I’ve tested so far.

But when I follow and read posts from the wordpress iOS app, the shortcode itself is displayed as plain text and the content is not protected either.

I have purged cache everywhere and tried disabling other plugins etc. Nothing makes any difference. I would really like to know how to fix this issue.

    Hi @ppwp

Thanks a lot for getting back to me.

The WordPress iOS app I’m using is the official one made by Automattic. iOS version is 14.8 at the moment. I usually keep both iOS and apps up-to-date.

Here are the steps to reproduce this issue.

    1. Create and publish a new post (Classic Editor) in a web browser with partially protected sections using [ppwp password=”1234″] content [/ppwp]

    2. View the post in web browsers (Safari on mac and iOS in my case) and the post is displayed correctly with the said section hidden behind the password form.

    3. View the post in “Reader” of the form and the post (including the shortcode itself) is displayed as plain text.

(I can’t upload screenshots here. I’ll send the same info and the screenshots to the emails mentioned in the reply)
