Shortcode AddOn Conflicts with Date

I have been really appreciating the Postie plugin especially with the shortcode add-on. But I discovered that when I use the add-on and include an explicit post date like this:
date: August 25, 2023 4pm
The date processes correctly, but the shortcodes do not. Here is an example that is failing for me:
Saturday, September 9, 10-11:30am
There will be a threshing session at the Meetinghouse. Friends are urged to come and share their thoughts. If you cannot attend the session, but would like to share your thoughts, please send them in an email. Remarks, including the reading of written remarks, will be kept to three minutes per person so all will have a chance to share. If you have questions, please contact the clerking circle.
