Hello I am building the product page with the FSE system and the TwentyTwentyFour template of WordPress. I have noticed that the short description block shows me its content as a string and not as an HTML block. How can I also temporarily solve this problem?

  • Hey there, @maurofon! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

I checked and saw that the short description is on a p tag.

Do you mind clarifying the issue you are facing so we can assist you further?

What are you seeing on your end? I recommend using https://snipboard.io to share screenshots. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

What were you expecting to see?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hey @carolm29!

When I use the block editor I see the same situation as you. So a div with class .wp-block-expert__expert and inside there is a string.

I want to achieve the same result as when I did NOT activate the block editor for the product page. That is, by inserting the html code in the short description (like the screen below)

I want the frontend not to come out as a string without the tags but I want the html inserted.

This is the result I want. (Now obtained by deactivating the FSE block editor)

This is what I get (by activating the FSE block editor)

    Hey, @maurofon!

This happens because on classic themes, the short description is on a specific block called “short description”, but on FSE themes, the short description is on a post excerpt block, which only displays text.

We have a website where you can submit feature requests and upvote the ones other people submitted and you like. So if you wish, you can submit a feature request to change that so the block allows HTML on it. You can check that out here.

We appreciate your suggestions and are always looking for ways to improve our products and services, and input from users like you is invaluable.

Regarding a short term solution, you might be able to achieve that with custom code. While we can’t provide support for code customization as per our support policy, we do our best to offer advice and direct you to appropriate resources.

You can visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there too.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have further questions.

    Have a wonderful day!

I will take a look at looking for custom code in the group you pointed me to.

    Hey, @maurofon!

That’s great, and good idea to share the link here as it will make it easier for people to see it and vote for it ??

I’ll close this thread now, okay?

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!
