Short list

    I’ve set up a directory with a long list of names. So long that the page loads slowly. I’d like to limit the initial display to just the ‘As’ since there is an alphabet at the top for folks to choose other letters. Any idea how to do that?

    but I didn’t. the shortcode I was using limits the display to two. Without a limit the page cn tak too long to load all the entries. this was the original: [cn_widget id=”cnw_search-2″]

    ok, but the screenshot shows the shortcode on the page twice.

    delete the left shortcode instance and add enable_search='TRUE' to the right shortcode instance.

    ah, I see what you mean. does work a bit better that way. I changed the page to a post in order to keep it from blowing out the sidebar but apparently the sidebar doesn’t appear on posts: https://sour-sully-xbn.zipwp.dev/direct-x/

    The lack of the sidebar would be a theme feature. Not something that Connections can control.

    I recommend the directory be embedded on a page and not a post.

    went back to the page for the directory and removed this line from the code which fixed the sidebar blowout problem:
