Short description not displayed in excerpt

Just tried following code but it didn’t work

<?php if(function_exists(appStore_excerpt_filter(appShortDescription))){
			 echo appStore_excerpt_filter(appShortDescription);
		} ?>

Problem solved.

<?php if(function_exists(appStore_excerpt_filter)){
					echo appStore_excerpt_filter($appShortDescription);

Where did you place this line of code?

In the category page of my theme. It is called archive.php and I place it after get_excerpt(100);
