  • Are you able to provide more information about how you added the shortcodes, if they require a plugin kindly make sure it’s still active on the site.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles. If you can install plugins, install and activate Health Check

It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health. On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off, and switch between themes, without affecting normal visitors to your site. This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. My question is that it stpped suddenly. I have installed any plugins recently. All shortcodes which are inserted in theme files stopped working. There are three plugins site review, content views and Advanced ads all are not working. If I am putting these shortcodes within post it is working, but not functioning within custom theme area, Side bar, Home Page and Footer. You can check my home page where short code is priniting but not executing and https://utsukhindi.com/book-reviews/ where it is working.

    Hi,

I’m having the same issue. I didn’t dig too deep but I think it has to do with the WordPress 6.2.1 Update, which installed automatically last night.

    Dear thelmachido,

I have checked my website with Health Check plugin. And enabled only one plugin while troubleshooting – which is content views, but the problem still persists. It has to be the core wordpress or the theme files. It has nothing to do with plugins.

poettlerdigital? Thank you for confirming this. I think the wordpress team should expedite the support to people who are using twetny-22 theme.

Unfortunately this issue is deliberate to patch a security issue. Please comment on this thread (follow this link) to explain how you use the Shortcode Block in templates and how important it is to you and why so that hopefully a rollback / compromise will be found as soon as possible! ??

Thanks Oliver Campion I have posted there.

There is a workaround if you need to place a shortcode in a template:

Using the block inserter, add a “Template Part” block, give your new custom template part a name for your own reference if you wish, and then add the shortcode inside the new template part.
