Short code page not displaying updated information

I installed the shortcode on a page called downloads, and it will display the uploads that I have sent prior to viewing the page. But when I upload a new file and hit refresh it does not display on the page. I can get it to display but I have to update the actual page in WP then refresh the page in my browser.
Is this normal behavior and or is their a work around?
