I am trying to use contact form plugin short-code in a secondary footer widget and it’s not working. I’ve tried 4 different plugins–all of which say they’re compatible with this template, yet nothing is working. I insert the short code and that’s all I see when the page is updated–no contact form. Is there a coding conflict in the template itself?

    Please advise.

    Hi again,

    Try the following steps:
    1. Install and activate Contact Form 7 plugin
    2. Navigate to Contact, change your form and copy shortcode. Should be something like this: [contact-form-7 id=”40″ title=”Contact form 1″]
    3. Add text widget to one of the footer widget area and paste the above shortcode.
    4. Save your changes.

It should work as expected. If you still can’t see contact form, please get me the url so I can debug it further for you.

    Best regards,

It works, but Contact Form 7 doesn’t give me the customization I need so I’m trying to use a different contact form, which works; however, I have to also include the code for the contact form 7 shortcode (then I use hide element). It will save and update and I can see it on the site working fine. But when I save the widget to update, I get this message and have to back out of the screen:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/irenecelcer/public_html/wp-content/plugins/contact-forms-builder-pro/classes/forms-widget.php:122) in /home/irenecelcer/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1179

This is a bit confusing for me… but this looks like something you can ask the Contact Form 7 (or the other plugin) author. Let me know how it goes.

If other contact form shortcode only works in your footer if contact form 7 shortcode is stacked with it then there’s something wrong in the coding for this template not ALL of the contact form apps–know what I mean?

    Hi there,

I’m very sorry but it seems I wasn’t clear enough in my last post. Contact Form 7 is not a mandatory plugin for Kale theme. You don’t need to paste Contact Form 7 shortcode when you are using different Contact Form plugin. In the last post I described the process of adding contact form with Contact Form 7 but when you are using the other plugin, please use only the shortcode from this new plugin.

I hope that helps. If you need more help with this, please let me know.

    Best,

Ha, no worries I totally understood that. This is the super weird part–other contact form shortcode Only Works if the Contact form 7 code is posted WITH it. Without it, only the shortcode, but not the actual form, for the other contact form shows on the site. Super weird, right!?

So now that I’ve configured the contact forms, whenever I save anything on the widgets page (working in Accessibility mode), I get a message similar to this:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/irenecelcer/public_html/books/wp-content/plugins/contact-forms-builder-pro/classes/forms-widget.php:122) in /home/irenecelcer/public_html/books/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1179

After saving it goes to the dreaded white page with the above string of warning code that makes you think you crashed the site. I can back out of it and whatever I was trying to do works, but I wanted to send an example of the code I am seeing when this happens in case there’s a way to stop it from happening…

@vgonzales11 – as you can see the error is showing up in the contact-forms-builder-pro/classes/forms-widget.php file. Please contact the plugin developers to see what may be going on here.
