Hi – have been using XML Google Maps, but it has stopped working and support is ‘end of life’ so I am trying Google Maps GPX Viewer instead.

Installed OK on my network site and can insert short code etc. using the map tool – see test page here
I have just copied from one of the demo maps as a first step.

But the short code is displayed on the page, without being turned into a map. (I note that the word ‘map’ is in purple.)

Any help for someone new to this plug-in would be really appreciated.

Hi, you have copied some html too. Remove the strong tag and it should work.

    Thanks for responding.

Have removed the html but still no go. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
Plug-in is definitely activated. Am multisite and plug-in is activated at site level.

    Hi again…
Don’t understand what you are pointing me to. I have now removed all other stuff from this test page – it just has the map short code.

I realise you are not there to debug my Word site, but if you can point me more specifically, it would be a great help.

I have tried the OSM graphical plug-in that also uses a short code and that works OK, so I am not clear why this one does not.

    thanks, Tony

    hi,
I think the probleme is your template…

I have switched back to the standard template that came with the theme, but still have the problem. I suppose it is possible that it is a theme problem.

This is very odd, as this is the only plug-in to have a problem with this theme.

I guess I will have to try and get one of the other mapping options to do what I need (handle .klm track files).

Anyhow, thanks for having a look.
