short code for assigning category to a link library

  • I have set up link library plugin, creating 3 different link libraries for 3 different types of links. However, they will be sharing the same link categories.

    So for example, 1 library will have article links related to a specific category

    Another link library will have resource site links to the same category.

    These libraries will be displayed at different places on the same page.

    I have each library set up, have configured the submission pages successfully.

    I see how to create short code for 1 library with a specific set of categories, but, I don’t see how to create short code for a specific link library using a specific category. I have tried different variations of the code used in your tutorial with no success.

    I have also cleared the text entry field as requested in the video relating to categories. Thanks in advance, I am liking this plugin a lot! Linda @iempoweru

    Hello, I am not 100% sure I understand your question. If all links are assigned a single link category, you will not be able to select a sub-set of these links. You would need to create different categories for each group of links.

    Then, under each library configuration, you can select which library to display.

    Alternatively, if all links are supposed to be displayed the same way visually, you could actually only have a single library configuration, and use the categorylistoverride shortcode argument to set which category should be displayed. But again, this requires each set of links to be assigned a different category.

    Actually, instead of having 3 libraries each displaying their own links, presumably with a category header, you could have a single library display 3 categories with the name of each category and that would make things even simpler.
