Short Code Embed not working

    I have embedded a handful of stories into relevant posts, but they’re now not showing up. On the linked page, it is placed under the h-tag “See the steps in action:” but I’m not seeing it actually show up on desktop. I’ve tried disabling ads to see if that was the issue but it was not.

    We have received similar reports and are actively working on fixing the issue. You can embed stories using the Latest Stories or Select Stories as an alternative.

    I’ll be sure to follow up with any updates about the fix.

    Hi Luckyna,
    Can you elaborate on the “Select Stories” embed feature? I have just been grabbing the short code when publishing the story for the first time.

    You can insert a Web Stories block with one of the other layout options. (Read more here: https://blog.google/web-creators/embedding-web-stories-across-your-site/.)

    Hi Luckyna,
    I don’t use gutenberg, so when I go into visual editor and click on stories I only see the option to create somewhat of a feed of stories instead of embedding a specific story on a relevant post. can you please assist?

    I have just been grabbing the short code when publishing the story for the first time.

    It sounds like you’re using the Classic Editor in which case the alternative Stories block options wouldn’t be available. My apologies.

    Good news is that we’re aiming to have this issue fixed in the upcoming release next week, so we will be sure to follow up soon!

    @slashedbeauty Hi there, thank you for your patience. A new version of the Web Stories for WordPress plugin has been released which includes the fix for the embed issue. Please update to the Web Stories v1.14.0 and confirm the issue has been resolved on your end as well.
