Shorcode option

  • Hi there – some time ago y0ou mentioned you were working on a shortcode embed option.

    This would open it up for use in many page builders (currently not working in Enfold for example).

    Did anything come of this?

    Hi,

    No, there’s been no progress on this.

    The issue is that traditional shortcodes will strip any output, so the embed script will not then work – hence why the current method was used.

    When using a page builder, do you still have access to the custom meta boxes in the editor?

    I do – but in the case of enfold their “Code” element simply returns your {{CODE}} rather than rendering the media player I am embedding, so a shortcode (which it supports) would be a lot more flexible in this case. Not necessarily so for all the other buildewrs of course so understand the effort/reward ratio not great. Thanks.

    I understand. Using any other method, I have to look at specific content which, for builders, is non-standard. Shortcodes work on most of these, though but… as I say, strip code. I’ll have to do some digging into WordPress core to see if it’s possible.
