shopping cart not working properly

My shopping cart widget is not working properly I put it on the widget and place it on the footer of the shopping page. It works properly when you bought a product it slides perfectly but when you haven’t bought anything on the page you are browsing even if you have items on the cart the widget will be blank.

Also when you bought an item it will work flawlessly but when you navigate to another page it will not work.
