• Hello some of the line items are not carrying over to the paypal transaction sheet. We were using standard paypal and converted to paypal pro today. we are missing some information needed on the passover. I can email examples if you provide where to send it.

    Hi Don,

In the plugin settings there is a check box option to pass line item details to PayPal. Are you sure you have this enabled?

Ah, I see. You originally said the line items weren’t carrying over, but it looks like what you meant is that the attributes associated with those items are not coming over.

Unfortunately, Payments Pro simply does not provide parameters for item attributes the way that PayPal Standard does. The only option is to add the attribute info into the line item name field, but that is limited in characters so it’s not something that works out all the time depending on the order and the details that need to go there.

The order ID would be passed and included in the PayPal transaction details, but then you’d have to pull that up in WooCommerce, of course, to see those attributes.

I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you, but that’s just not something that the Pro APIs support. ??

Ok, Thanks for looking at it. Yes we have to go into woocommerece and pull the info out where we were able to have that info on the paypay document. I find it fascinating that i would be the first to bring this up. Is it something PAYPAL needs to look into then?

    Hi Don,

You’re not the first to bring it up. It’s just there is nothing I can do about it because of the limitations of the PayPal Pro APIs.

It’s been brought up to PayPal MANY times over the years. Unfortunately, it’s just not something that has ever made it to the top of their priority list.
